SUPER-CURRICULUM
At Richard Hale School, we are surrounded by our very own history. History is infinite, and the variety of tasks in our super-curriculum aims to go beyond what we study in the classroom. From Medieval China to the Falklands War, we hope to inspire the next generation of historians.
The RHS history department wants students to engage well beyond the curriculum because history is so vast that even a whole lifetime isn't enough! It is our aim that the super-curriculum will inspire a fascination with history that will stay with you for life and create a more comprehensive understanding of complex and international issues that face the world today and in the future.
Through our super-curriculum, we want to harness your curiosity about the past and enable you to understand and articulate the significance of past events, individuals, and ideas. You will gain an appreciation of your place within history, appreciate alternative viewpoints, separate fact and reason from opinion, and think critically about sources, ensuring that your arguments are fully justified and balanced. To this end, we have designed a super-curriculum to cover a broad and diverse range of topics from around the globe. We hope you enjoy it.
