Gifted and Talented Endorsement/Graduate Course
The Nature and Needs for the Gifted Learner Course is one of two graduate courses required for Gifted and Talented endorsement. The course will be offered virtually October 13th-November 10th. Those who successfully complete the course will earn 3 graduate credits. If interested, please complete the course interest form by September 1st.
Conversational Spanish I Graduate Course
The Conversational Spanish Course is for educators interested in a course the supports a conversational level of language acquisition. The course is open to all K-12 educators, but district ESOL teachers will be given priority. The course will be offered face-to-face October 19th-November 16th. Those who successfully complete the course will earn 3 graduate credits. If interested, please complete the course interest form by September 1st.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Culturally Responsive Classroom Instruction Graduate Course
The goal of the Culturally Responsive Classroom Instruction course is enable, support, and prepare participants to be culturally competent educators who are 1) aware of socially equitable practices that promote student engagement and high quality learning experiences for all students in Rock Hill School District; 2) empowered with a strong understanding of culturally responsive pedagogy and its practices 3) knowledgeable leaders within their contexts so that they may be agents of change in the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The course will be offered from September 29th-November 17th. Those who successfully complete the course will earn 3 graduate credits. If interested, please complete the course interest form by September 1, 2022. This course is FREE to the first 30 certified district employees who complete the interest form.
Reading Workshop for Grades 5-9 Graduate Course
This course is designed to help teachers experience the components of a reading workshop in order to plan and implement such structures into their classrooms. The course is open to ELA teachers in Grades 5-9. The course will be offered face-to-face September 21, October 5, October 26, November 9 and virtually September 28, October 12, October 19, November 2. Those who successfully complete the course will earn 3 graduate credits. If interested, please complete the course interest form by September 1st.
Effective Classroom Management Renewal Credit Course
The Effective Classroom Management Strategies course focuses on best practices in classroom management that meet the diverse needs of learners who are included in the general education classroom. Knowledge about and experiences with diverse learners is applied to support the success of all learners, including those with exceptionalities. This course will prepare educators to feel confident as classroom managers, and help them know their professional responsibilities not only on the first day of school, but for the entire school year. The course is open to all K-12 educators. The course will be offered face-to-face September 15, September 22, September 29, October 6, October 13, October 20, October 27, November 3, November 10, November 17. Those who successfully complete the course will earn 30 renewal credits. If interested, please complete the course interest form by September 1st.
