In order to make a FAFSA application (aka the first and main financial aid application you'll complete this fall), you will need to make an FSA ID. This will be your log-in for life - every year when you re-apply for financial aid, you will use this FSA ID.
You will also need to make an FSA ID for a parent or guardian - they will use this ID to sign your FAFSA when you are ready to submit. There are three exceptions:
They already have an FSA ID (because your older sibling applied to college previously).
Your parent(s)/guardian(s) does not have a social security number.
You do not have a social security number.
Students MUST make an FSA ID for both themselves AND a parent/guardian by FRIDAY OCTOBER 28.
To make an FSA ID, go to fsaid.ed.gov and follow the directions.
