The Janus mutant

The mutant zebrafish Janus results in the development of Siamese monozygotic twins. It is a maternal recessive mutation which arose naturally. Our lab attempted to map & characterize the causative allele but failed.

Rarely, humans are born with a similar condition which is not incompatible with a normal life. This is the case of Abby & Brittany (see video below).
