While a common description of a non-governmental organization (NGO) is a "private organization that pursues activities to relieve suffering, promote the interests of the poor, protect the environment, provide basic social services, or undertake community development," there is no universally agreed-upon definition. Because of this, RRNC would like to emphasize the fact that, unlike most non-profit NGOs, our organization does not have 501(c)(3) status.
Instead, we focus our funding efforts on our internal for-profit SBU programs and microbusinesses, synergy from our partner network, physical material donations (building supplies, educational materials, etc.), and scholarships and grants made for small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures.
