Rugby is a key part of our school’s sporting identity, giving students the opportunity to build resilience, physical fitness, tactical awareness, and teamwork from Year 7 through to Year 10. Whether a student is new to the sport or striving to play at a higher level, our rugby programme supports their development, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.
We proudly field eight rugby teams across Years 7–10, providing opportunities for every pupil to train, progress, and represent the school at a level that suits them.
Our focus is to nurture determined, skilful, and enthusiastic players who enjoy playing the sport and aspire to improve.
Some of our students also take part in club rugby outside of school, and we actively encourage all players to join local rugby clubs to continue developing their abilities and game understanding.
Our rugby teams enjoy a busy and varied fixture list throughout the year, allowing students to test their skills in competitive and festival environments. We take part in:
Havering League (Years 7–10)
Essex Cup (Year 9-10)
Essex Festivals (Years 7-10)
Essex 7s Festivals (Years 7-10)
Havering 7s Festivals (Years 7-8)
Rosslyn Park National Schools 7s
Across all age groups, our teams consistently demonstrate commitment, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Participating in the Rosslyn Park National 7s is a particular highlight, offering our players the chance to compete on one of the biggest stages in school rugby. Our current Year 8s had a very successful season last year with them becoming Havering Champions for the first time with a tremendous win over Campion School.
Year 11 Joseph C has been in the Saracens Academy for a year playing flanker and canter. We are really proud of his development since he joined us in Year 7!
