A literary resource created by teachers for teachers
TK to Literacy is developed with the intention of creating accessible literacy resources for Alberta teachers.
Our vision is to create an inclusive, culturally diverse, and engaging classroom environment for all learners. Not only do we want to allow children time to read, but we also want to provide them with a choice from a robust classroom library, therefore creating a culture and community of passionate readers (Gonzalez, 2017). With the support and willingness of Alberta teachers, we strongly believe that this resource will make an impact on the youth of tomorrow by prioritizing the significance of literacy and its lasting impacts on student development. The evidence of impact is given by the number of Alberta teachers who graciously contributed to this resource by allowing educators to confidently discover literature that has been vetted by teachers for teachers.
