Soapy Sea Hunt with Teacher Beth & Little Mermaid

Materials and Ingredients needed:

3. Cornstarch

4. Blender or whisk

5. Large bowl

6. Objects that start with the letter S

First take all the ingredients and mix them with a blender or whisk them until fluffy. Then add them to a large bowl with the S items and enjoy.

Primero tome todos los ingredientes y mézclelos con una licuadora o bátelos hasta que estén esponjosos. Luego agrégalos a un tazón grande con los artículos S y disfruta.

Container Play

Parents you don’t have to go out and buy anything from an expensive toy store. Just find any old shoe box and cut holes in it and find objects around the house that you can fit into those holes. This activity teaches many things. It teaches “container play” how to put in and take out objects. Does size recognition “Does the ball fit into the little hole? “No.”, “Let’s try the bigger hole”. We can also add numbers to the shoebox 1,2,3…. as you put the objects in. This allows us to count or play fun games like, “Find the number 1.2….” or “Put the green ball in the little hole.” or “Put the red block in number one.” I love shoebox activities because they create opportunities to learn skills in many different areas.

Juego con Contenedores

Padres, no tienen que salir y comprar algo de una tienda de juguetes cara. Puede encontrar cualquier caja de zapatos y cortar agujeros, mientras buscar objetos alrededor de la casa que quepan en los agujeros. Esta actividad puede enseñar muchas cosas. Enseña que “juego con contenedores”como poner adentro y sacar. Enseña reconocimiento de tamaño; “Esa pelota cabe en el agujero pequeño?” “no.” “Probemos el agujero mas grande”. Tambien pueden agregar numeros a los agujeros, 1, 2 3…. Mientras pones objetos adentro. Esto permite contar y jugar “Encuentra el numero 1, 2…” o “pon la pelota verde en el agujero pequeño” o “pon la pelota roja en el agujero numero 1”. Me encantan las actividades con cajas de zapatos porque permiten el aprendizaje en diferentes areas.

Fishing for Letters/Numbers/Colors

1. Paper

4. Small stick with cordage and a magnet tied to it

Draw basic fish pattern or print pictures of fish and then place a paperclip on the head of the fish. You can adapt this activity in many ways, but for this theme you can write letters or numbers on the fish and ask your child to "find the letter G" or "find the number 3". It is always best to model the activity first and then take turn or just fish on.

Fish Crackers Sorting

Start with placing the colored paper or container out. It may be best to start with only 2 colors at first and then add more as your child understands the task. You can help with starting and find all the red fish and saying "these are all the red fish and they go here". If you don't have different colored fish cracker, you can write numbers and have them place the correct number of cracker on/in the target.
