Assignments:
In your textbook, Graded Homework #2. Page 27 #5, 6, 23, 26, 39, 40, 53, and 73. These are problems designed to develop your “Problem Solving Strategies” skills. Look at the example problems in Section 1.3. Pay close attention to - Using a table or a chart, Making a Diagram, applying a systematic approach, working backwards, looking for a pattern (Inductive Reasoning), and Guess and Check. You would have been provided two class days to work on this assignment and a full week to complete the assignment away from class. At 15-20 minutes per day, you should expect to complete 1 or 2 problems above each day. This assignment should be approximately 4-5 days of work for Math Structures.
Then also in your textbook, you can begin to work through Unit 3 (which is also Chapter 3) - Logic. I have uploaded the course outline onto Google Classroom. This is approximately 12-15 class days of work in Unit Three. Try to read each section and work through the problems associated with it on the class outline. Instruction support for this topic can be found at the khan academy website. I will also be reaching out to HVCC, to see if they have any on-line instructional support to provide students with assistance during this distance learning period.
Suggested Minutes: 15-20 per day
