The parrot is a metaphor for the freedom you reach after facing your problems. The use of pastel colours in contrast with the bold gold emphasises the idea of weakness, purity and vulnerability being protected by the gold. This symbolises the protection of self through conquering fears.
The title is dedicated to my unborn siblings, to express my love to them, and that they are important. The colours used in this piece emphasise the passion and love we have for them and the misfortune of our loss. By fusing two baby faces together emphasises the idea that we are connected and can experience this life together. The image is taken from my baby photo.

The use of different tones of the face, and the changing emotions, symbolises different phases of my self exploration. I aim to confuse the viewer by questioning which is the true me.

This symbolises the suffocation of cruelty of living with the confusion of my identity, emphasizing the struggle that I face every day. The use of red is to create an illusion of blood, and the idea of pain. The use of makeup is to connect with the fear of showing my weakness, being afraid of letting others know I am in pain. The aim of this piece is to convey the feeling of mental pain through the use of symbolism.

The use of the amount of skin shown expresses transparency and vulnerability, this aims to document my attempts to find myself, allowing the viewers to see my suffering in finding my identity.

In sharing my weakness, I aim to show an unfiltered, vulnerable version of myself. Warm skin tones contrast with moody blues, creating a cold atmosphere to express the cruelty and my pain. I want viewers to question the effects of scoliosis.

The aesthetic is the same as “conquer”. WIth the intention to express the significance of my friends in helping me grow as a stronger individual. They are huge pieces of my puzzle. The use of gold emphasizes the concept of medals, as they are key to my self achievements.

From the left you see how people see, physically, on the right you see what I think of myself. 雙面 emphasises that two versions are one existence, both “the real me” but different perceptions. 雙面 makes you question what you see, and urges you not to judge.
