Google Gemini

Gemini

Gemini formerly known as Bard.  Gemini is currently unavailable in our Google Workspace, ie you can't use Gemini for Gmail.  Gemini is a large language model (LLM) that can help educators with their teaching in a variety of ways, including:

Creating engaging and personalised lessons: Gemini can generate lesson plans, quizzes, and other learning materials tailored to the specific needs and interests of students. This can help to make learning more engaging and effective for all students.

Providing students with personalised feedback: Gemini can provide students with feedback on their work in real time, helping them to identify and correct their mistakes. This can help to improve student learning outcomes and reduce the workload on teachers.

Making learning more accessible: Gemini can be used to create learning materials in multiple languages and formats, making them accessible to a wider range of students. This can be especially helpful for students with disabilities or who are learning English as a second language.

Helping students to develop critical thinking skills: Gemini can be used to generate open-ended questions and scenarios that encourage students to think critically and creatively. This can help students to develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

Overall, Gemini is a powerful tool that can help educators to improve their teaching and make learning more accessible and effective for all students.  For example, for numeracy Gemini can generate practice problems and solutions, or to help students learn new mathematical concepts.

Is Google Workspace for Education data used to train Google’s generative AI tools like Gemini and Search?

No. When using Google Workspace for Education Core Services, your customer data is not used to train or improve the underlying generative AI and LLMs that power Gemini, Search, and other systems outside of Google Workspace without permission. And prompts entered when interacting with tools like Gemini are not used without permission beyond the context of that specific user session.
