To make roller derby happen, each bout needs an army of Referees (Skating Officials) and Non-Skating Officials (NSOs). There is no special skill to be an NSO, and the initial training for a position can be completed in 30 minutes. RJR needs as many parents as possible to learn these roles, so parents can watch when their skaters are playing, and officiate when your skating is playing.
Most of these videos are from recordings of a series of NSO classes hosted by Carolina and Collision in fall of 2023. Some of the events and things mentioned may be out of date, as the videos are unedited recordings of the discord meetings. All of the officiating information as of 8/13/2024 are still accurate.
