As a school, we have a daily timetable to show the children what will be happening during the day. Maintaining some structure will ensure they are able to cope with this change. This is an example of a structure that could be used for the day to ensure learning activities can be planned. You could complete the task box before (with your child) and once a task has been completed, your child can tick it. Your timetable could be written on a whiteboard, or a piece of paper, so that your child can see what the day will look like.
This can also be found on the slides, but for quick access the quiz has been put here too.
Every week, a new reading quiz will be here. It is an interactive way to develop comprehension skills. They are created by us and link to our VIPERS and how we would discuss a text in school.
Just a a few things to remember:
Year 2 Common Exception Words
These are words that the children must be able to read, write and spell by the end Year 2.
Use the flash cards to practise these words, or get your child to make their own. Keep practising these words. The more you practise, the more you'll remember.
This menu of activities are for the children to have free choice over.
This is linked to our topic for Summer 1 - Wonderful World of Roald Dahl.
If you have any Roald Dahl texts at home, do read them to/with your child.
Please check this section regularly, as the Topic work may change.
