History will mostly involve in class reading, notes and activities. Homework is not typically assigned unless students do not complete it during class.
To learn to apply the concepts we teach in History students will often create culminating projects. These projects are sometimes worked on during class and sometimes completed strictly at home. Information and instructions about the projects will always be available in Google Classroom and notifications of upcoming projects will be announced in the weekly newsletter.
In History there are often tests at the end of units. Students are scored on a 3,2,1 scale. As History concepts are not spiraled throughout the year, students are given the option of a retake form if they do not score a 3. These forms are available in google classroom under the class resources topic. Students can make a copy of the form, follow the directions to complete it, attach it to the quiz assignment, and resubmit the quiz for a chance at a better score. Retakes will only be accepted until the end of the trimester.

How to Help
History is a lot of reading, questions, projects, and assessments.
You can help your student by working to see if they understand the concepts. Have them explain to you what they are learning. Have them make flashcards.
Discussing and explaining what they are learning will not only help them understand the material better, but also assist in their reading skills.
