As part of your application, you will upload your Pymble Passport which should include the following information:
A brief introduction (in your Profile), that highlights your character strengths, motivations and how you want to have an impact.
School Experiences that demonstrate your achievements, leadership, service, participation
External Experiences that demonstrate your service, participation and leadership.
Additional information such as certification, awards and other achievements.
Leadership positions involve many responsibilities at Pymble Ladies’ College. In the role, student leaders are expected to model and promote the values of the school at all times. These are care, courage, integrity, respect and responsibility. Leaders are relied upon to carry out a range of obligations including:
Leading the student body and building a sense of cohesion in the College
Acting as a ‘voice’ for fellow students to engage with school management
Representing the school at various events
Leading initiatives and building community
Assisting the staff managing and maintaining College standards
In your application and portfolio, you should detail your involvement in school activities and any leadership positions or key responsibilities that you have held. Any roles or responsibilities that you have in the broader community can also be included. You should also describe and reflect on the skills you have developed as a result of these experiences. At the beginning of your application, you should list in order of preference, the positions in which you are most interested.
Some areas you may wish to address are:
Demonstrated leadership and initiative, reflecting your commitment through College involvement
Demonstrated ability to uphold the traditions and values of Pymble
The skills and qualities you will bring to your nominated leadership role
Articulated suggestions for initiatives or improvements for the College
Awards and achievements
How have you been involved at Pymble? Think about co-curricular activities, sport, academic, service, outdoor education, teams, clubs and other experiences at Pymble. As you include these things, think about what they might reveal about your character, motivation and impact on those around you.
Volunteering
If you have been involved in community service or other volunteer efforts, you can showcase that experience and how it demonstrates your passion, impact and growth.
Work Experience
Your Passport is a great place to showcase your current and previous work experiences. Involvement in work outside might demonstrate your initiative, a can-do approach or perhaps an ability to be well organised. What does your outside experiences demonstrate about you?
If you have received any certifications or awards you can add them to your Passport. A certification can be a certificate, license, or assessment that certifies your knowledge or experience.
