NB: Students are welcome to apply for positions across all areas.
The Prefect selection process is the same for all positions including House Prefects. Students who would like to nominate for a Prefect position are required to submit a short video which will outline their views on leadership and why they are interested in the role. This will require you to answer the following three questions:
All applicants for Prefects should be aware that their application video will be available to be viewed prior to and during the voting period.
The video should be accompanied by the submission of their Pymble Portfolio, containing a listing their achievements and contributions to the College. Students will receive detailed information about the format and suggested content for their application. All applications must be uploaded by 4:00pm on. In fairness to all, no late applications can be considered. Instructions on how to apply will be communicated directly to the girls.
All Year 11 girls who have applied are eligible to be considered for a position. The students in Years 10 and 11, as well as the outgoing Prefects (2025) and staff are invited to cast between 6 and 30 votes, and all votes have equal value. When voting, electors should consider their selections carefully and vote for only those students who they believe will carry out their duties reliably and responsibly. They should select students who are always willing to fulfil their obligations and uphold the standards and values of the College.
The voting process is conducted electronically. Instructions to vote will be sent via email to all those involved. The online voting system will open at______. Once a student or staff vote has been submitted, it cannot be altered.
As a result of the voting outcome and their application, shortlisted students will be invited to participate in the interview process with the Leadership Selection Committee. Each interviewee will be invited to discuss their strengths and understanding of the role. The student may also wish to make suggestions to improve the opportunities and experiences for students at the College. Students under consideration for an Executive role will be invited to a second interview. It is important to note that progression from the interview stage to a position of leadership is not automatic. As such, shortlisted students should prepare carefully for their interview.
If students or parents have any questions, they should direct these to the Head of Secondary Wellbeing
