Dance Performance Stream at Pymble

Please Note: all information listed in this website is for current students, as well as new students entering the College in 2024.

For over a span of 13 years, Pymble Dance has successfully conducted the Eisteddfod Dance Stream, resulting in numerous accomplishments by nurturing student growth and establishing a diverse range of opportunities. As Pymble Dance transitions to the next phase of its journey with the upcoming Grey House Precinct Dance Centre (anticipated to commence operations in mid-2025), we are dedicated to delving into various fresh avenues for our dancers' performances. In the year 2024, the traditional 'Eisteddfod Stream' will be integrated into the 'Performance Stream' classification.

The Performance Stream will include;

NEW in 2024!!

Audition Schedule Changes

The Audition schedule is different this year due to the Co-curricular Registration System opening earlier. There are many benefits to this such as:

Year 2, 2023

Year 2, 2023 students will have the opportunity to audition for a place in the 2024 Eisteddfod or Performance Team.

Dance Troupes / Hip Hop Crew

In 2024, we are broadening the horizons for our representative Dance Stream by introducing Junior and Secondary Dance Troupes. To be eligible for inclusion in the Eisteddfod Team or Dance Troupes, students must take part in the audition process. While the training demands for students in the Dance Troupes will be lower than those expected of an Eisteddfod Group, participants will still have the chance to engage in a minimum of one competition, as well as other potential performance prospects that might arise. The Dance Troupe level is tailored to support students who might not yet be fully prepared for the Eisteddfod team, but who exhibit the potential and enthusiasm to embrace challenges beyond the scope of the Onstage class level and are interested in performing more than just at Dance Showcase.

Students Graded for Hip Hop 3 in 2024 will have the opportunity to perform in at least one competition and other performance opportunities that may arise and will come under the 'Dance Troupe' category with the title of Hip Hop Crew.

Solos/Duos/Trios *TBC

Pending facilities and staffing we may be offering a small number of Solo/Duo/Trio lessons that will be designed to learn routines to perform at Eisteddfods. The regularity of lessons and format of this aspect of the Dance Performers Stream will be decided in the coming months. This opportunity will only be open to students in the Eisteddfod Dance Program and will be via invitation only for 2024. Students who do all of their dance tuition via Pymble Dance will be given priority.

Dance Spin - Compulsory for White Team members ** NEW

It is compulsory for all dancers placed in the White level groups in 2024 to register for a 'Dance Spin' class. This class will be designed to supplement the cardiovascular needs of the complex and high intensity choreography that this level is required to achieve. The instructor will work closely with the Dance Department to design a program that aligns with the Eisteddfod Season. Registration fees are included in the White level Eisteddfod Dance Fees. There will be two morning sessions on the timetable to sign up for.
