Training & Development
As an extension of our existing dance program, the company offers students the chance to refine and expand their skills beyond what is covered in regular classes. This additional training ensures that students are well-prepared to meet the demands of the dance industry.

For students serious about pursuing dance as a profession, the Pymble Dance Company will act as a crucial stepping stone, providing the training, connections, and experience necessary to succeed in the industry.
School Representation
The company will proudly represent the school at various competitions, events, and performances, showcasing the talent and hard work of our students on larger platforms. The main focus will not be Eisteddfods and it is predicted this group may only perform at 1 or 2 Eisteddfods. Additionally, the company will seek opportunities to perform beyond an Eisteddfod arena where possible to further expand their professional exposure.
Holistic Growth
Participation in the company goes beyond technical training. Students will develop creativity, discipline, and teamwork—qualities essential not only for success in dance but in life.
Industry Exposure
Through the Pymble Dance Company, students will gain real-world industry experience, offering invaluable exposure for those pursuing a professional dance career.

Beyond dance, being a part of the company will help students develop important life skills such as time management, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure
Students will be selected through a comprehensive audition process that assesses their technical ability, creativity, and commitment to dance. All students must register to be selected via the link below.
Round 1: Performance Stream Audition Day Juniors Friday and Secondary Monday- Students will be observed by Dance Staff.
Round 2: Callback Audition - Students will be invited to a Callback Audition.
Round 3: Interview - Students will participate in an interview / discussion
All interested members approach to academic studies will be considered.
The Pymble Dance Company is designed for dedicated and passionate students who aspire to pursue dance at a higher level and gain exposure to the professional industry. Year 7 to 12. Younger applicants may be invited to apply.
Students who are successful in being placed in TWO or more Performance Stream Eisteddfod groups (White, Scarlet, Navy / Hip Hop Crew) will be considered.
In addition to the intensives (Term 1) and weekly lessons (Term 2 - 4) the Company members will have access to the following support and opportunities:
Mentoring: Each Company member will be allocated a Key Dance Staff member as a Dance Mentor. Company members will have monthly mentor sessions with their mentor to assist them in navigating their dance journey and balancing academic studies.
The Space TV Subscription: Each Company member will be provided with access to The Space TV Online Dance Class App The Space TV
Dance MasterClass Supscription: Each Company member will be provided with access to Dance MasterClass subscription Dance MasterClass
International Connections: Pymble Dance is in the process of establishing strong International links with various Dance Institutions for opportunities such as Dance Exchange, Camps, Holiday Programs and Online mentoring.
Private Dance Coaching: Each Company Member will receive 1 x Private Coaching session a Term. This session can be used to work on any area that the student wants to improve on. Senior Students will be able to schedule these in Free Periods.
Wellbeing: Company members will have an opportunity to learn from Guest presenters about health and wellbeing as a dancer.
The program offers training in a variety of dance styles, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Acro and more. The program is designed to be comprehensive, covering both technique and artistry.
The Pymble Dance Company runs throughout the school year. Term 1 will be two intensives on various weekends. Term 2 - 4 will include 1 x 1.5 hour regular weekly class. Additional workshops, masterclasses, and rehearsals may be scheduled depending on upcoming performances and projects.
The Pymble Dance Company is an advanced, extension program offering specialised training, industry connections, and a focus on preparing students for potential careers in dance, unlike regular dance classes which may be more general in nature.
This opportunity is currently only open to students who choose to represent the College in two or more selective dance groups.
A Key Dance Staff member will guide the Dance Company and manage the program structure. Pymble Dance Staff and external industry professionals will be invited to work with the company to best suit the needs and objectives of the selected group.
