Orange County Peace Officers Memorial (2013)

DESCRIPTION:   47-foot by 71.5-foot Peace Officers memorial site containing a 71-foot wide semi-circular area with the following public artworks:
  • 9-foot high and 8.5-foot high pair of cast bronze figures of peace officers (by Eugene Daub)
  • 12-foot long cast concrete bas relief on a curved free-standing concrete wall (by Tom Van Sant)

This large Peace Officers Memorial at the Orange County Sheriff's Regional Training Facility includes two public artworks serving as the Memorial's focal point: Daub's pair of larger-than-life cast bronze peace officer statues, and Van Sant's bas relief collage of peace officer images and themes as a backdrop on the adjacent free-standing wall. 
The Memorial contains several additional features:  an honorary tri-fold flag and plaque in front of the statues, pools with fountains, two curved free-standing walls with dedication and donor plaques, free-standing 5-foot high by18.5-foot long founders and donors walls, and a "Walk of Heroes" memorial section.
