One of the challenges that Term 3 (January-April) brings is the annual Smokey Season in Chiang Mai and the high AQI (Air Quality Index) levels. However, at Prem we are better prepared than ever to keep our community safe during these times. The Positive Pressure System (PPS), Air Purifiers and Smokey Season Protocols mean that we have a robust system in place to keep our learning spaces with clean and purified air, even when the AQI levels are high outside. We are proud to say that in terms of air quality within our learning spaces, we have the cleanest air out of all the international schools in Chiang Mai and among the best in Thailand.Â
All learning spaces in Prem are protected by the school Positive Pressure system, which ensures they have near Zero AQI. These spaces are monitored 24 hours a day all to check AQI (US AQI) and CO2 levels to make sure our students are in the cleanest air/environment possible. Clean air and well managed CO2 levels increase students ability to concentrate and focus on their learning. All faculty/staff are aware of air quality levels in their learning spaces and messages are sent throughout the day, so teachers will know if we have to put in place our 'Red Day' safety protocols.
