Band Camp
This year we will be kicking off the Timnath Band year with a summer band camp for 8-12 graders. We will meet in the band room (SE corner of the building) from 1:00 to 5:00 each day. We'll do some team building activities, have sectionals with local professional musicians and learn some of the music we'll be playing in Pep Band AND we'll do some marching!
It's going to be a lot of fun, and a great way to get to know your new band family!
BBQ
We'll be having a potluck picnic for all the music department kids, grades 6-11! We'll be out on the east lawn, right outside the music department! Bring something to share if you can. Check your email for details on what groups should bring what! Check back here for the official date!
What you need!
MUSIC!! This year's pep band packets can be viewed and printed HERE
For instruments with multiple parts, 11-12th graders should typically take the first part and 9-10th grade take the second part. 8th grade trumpets take the third part.
If your instrument doesn't say "1" or "2" next to it, then there is only one part for your instrument
Percussion will determine parts once we get started at camp, but most of you already know what you'll be playing. If not, email Mr. P (cpeterse@psdschools.org) and we'll figure it out! 8th graders will start on cymbals and bass drum.
Every wind player needs a pep band flip folder with 6 additional pages and a lyre for their instrument. Drum Line needs 8 additional pages, I'll provide the lyre.
If you play a Yamaha instrument, you need a Yamaha lyre (except flute, clarinet, trumpet & trombone clip-on lyres).
If you don’t play a Yamaha instrument, DO NOT purchase a Yamaha lyre (it’ll be too big, except for flute, and trumpet/trombone clip on lyres)
