The District 202 Instructional Technology Coaches presented over 65 virtual sessions and 20 in-person sessions during Summer Summit 2025. Summer Summit is our annual professional development mini-conference for District 202 Teachers and other staff members. Accessibility tools built into digital apps and devices are essential for many students and beneficial for all. Assistive Technology (AT) is a key component of Tier I instruction that all students receive and all students and teachers have access to Read&Write in District 202. Educators can help their students learn how to use Read&Write and how it can help them reduce barriers in their learning experiences. In this session, participants will learn about accessibility in general, Read&Write, and four key steps that educators can take to help students build and then use their own "accessibility toolbox."

Reducing or eliminating barriers that prevent learners from achieving grade-level success is a key component of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). As an educator, as much as we want to help all of our learners, time is usually a barrier for us to fully implement the UDL guidelines for Representation. However, with the use of artificial intelligence (AI), we can maximize the time we have and eliminate the barriers that our learners face. In this session, we will learn about specific AI tools that can be used to provide options for learners to access auditory information (e.g., captions), translations, information in multiple media types, and multiple ways to process the information. So let's get accessible with AI!

Padlet can be used for so many things in the classroom, but have you ever thought about using Padlet to increase how much students are speaking and listening? Did you use Flipgrid to have students submit videos and can't find a replacement tool? Do you want to hear students read stories or make presentations? Do you want students to listen to other students' responses to prompts and respond back? Padlet can do all of this!
