Kacey Helland

Kathryn (Kacey) Helland is a Spanish teacher at Plainfield South High School since 2017. During her tenure, she has contributed to the school community in various leadership roles, including serving on the School Improvement Team for Instructional Best Practices and acting as a building mentor teacher. She is the building representative for the Spanish language classes on the Subject Curriculum Committee and has been an active member of the District Digital Literacy Team. Additionally, Kacey serves as an Instructional Technology Coach for the district and has collaborated with other technology coaches on the e-learning committee and the Generative AI Team, helping to implement innovative strategies to enhance student learning.

Kacey earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and Secondary Education from Loyola University and holds a Master’s degree in Spanish from the Universidad de Granada in Spain. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership with a Principal endorsement from Lewis University.
