Roman Africa is a 6th grade math and science teacher at Aux Sable Middle School.
This is Roman’s 27th year teaching at the middle school level. During his 19 years at PSD 202, he has taught math, science, and computer applications. Roman was also an instructional technology specialist for Aux Sable from 2007 -2012.
Roman earned his bachelor’s degree in Teaching of Chemistry and Math from University of Illinois in 1998. He also has a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from University of St. Francis and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University. Roman is a Level 1 Google Certified Educator.
Before online education became popular, Roman was an adjunct professor at University of St. Francis for over 7 years. He taught the “Instructional Technology” course on campus to undergraduate- and graduate-level teacher candidates.
Roman’s favorite part of being an instructional technology coach has been being able to work with learners at many age-levels with technology in their personal and school lives.
