Emergency Evacuation Policy
If an emergency evacuation is needed when I have children in my care; such as times of, gas leaks, fire or floods, I have an escape plan in place. All older children will be taught how to act in the unlikely event of having to evacuate the building. We practice the fire drill routine regularly. Each fire drill is recorded within my Risk Assessment Folder.
I have had the fire brigade visit my setting and perform a fire safety check and provide advice on my home. I have got two smoke detectors fitted in my home which are regularly tested and the details recorded. If a smoke detector goes off, or a fire is detected, the first thing that needs to happen is to evacuate the children from the building immediately.
Fire Escape Plan:-
I always carry my mobile phone which is fully charged, I have entered all contact numbers along with the emergency contact numbers for each child. I also have emergency numbers such as my own doctor and police station saved on my phone.
