About me

My name is Claire Hinson. I live in Kempston, with my partner of 4 years, Jay, and our little girl Evie. Jay and I are both English and have lived in Bedfordshire all of our lives.

Before becoming a childminder, I worked as a Customer Service Advisor in an office. Within this environment I had to be extra efficient, hardworking and willing to go the extra mile. I had daily communications with customers who had issues that needed to be resolved therefore meaning I had to have good levels of empathy and had to be very understanding and caring as the customers would quite often be unhappy! My days would be very busy therefore I had to be able to plan and prioritise whilst remaining flexible, I had to be able to multitask and defuse, sometimes, very stressful situations - all whilst staying calm and keeping a smile! The skills I learned on this job have been invaluable with my training in becoming a childminder as well as in my everyday tasks.

When I had my little girl, the thought of leaving her and the cost of childcare and commuting to and from work meant that going back after maternity leave would not be possible - so, here I am, starting my own little business giving home-from-home care to little ones!
