Loburn School te Kura Aromauka Compulsory Uniform Procedure
The wearing of the school uniform is to encourage a sense of pride and identity and to show that students are proud to be a member of the Loburn School community.
Guidelines
The uniform will be worn all year round
Students are to take pride in wearing the school uniform correctly
The uniform will be made up of the approved items on the uniform schedule. (See below)
Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied up, or a headband used and must be kept out of the eyes. The colouring of hair is strongly discouraged.
A wristwatch and stud earrings only, can be worn (no other jewellery)
Make-up is not part of the dress code for students
All items of clothing to be named clearly.
Parents are responsible for maintaining the uniforms to an acceptable standard. Clean and tidy condition is expected at all times.
Appropriate footwear for school activities is required every day. Recommended footwear is trainers or sneakers. Jandals, beach sandals and shoes with high heels are inappropriate.
Children must arrive at, and leave school wearing footwear at all times. In wet weather, gumboots may be worn to school. Indoor shoes or slippers can be worn inside in winter.
Blue bucket hats are to be worn in terms 1 and 4. All new students will be supplied with a new hat by the school when they enrol.
For religious or cultural reasons, there may be approved exceptions to this policy. The Principal must be advised in writing should a student wish to be exempt from any part of the school uniform procedure.
School Uniform Schedule
All students are required to wear clothing that falls within the following stated options.
Uniform Options
Royal blue monogrammed polo shirt, long or short sleeve. Available from the Rangiora Warehouse
School hoodies available from school. Ashley Rugby Hoodies are not permitted.
Plain navy shorts, trackpants or cargo pants.
Options for Girls:
As above, plus, plain navy bike shorts, ¾ pants, culottes or skort.
Cardigan and blue checked summer dress.
Other
Any visible thermal clothing must be blue or white if wearing the checked dress. Rainjackets need not be school colours.
The school has a selection of good quality second-hand clothes available for families.
