Welcome to the daVinci Arts Middle School Counseling Center! Overall our role is to provide all students equitable access to a quality developmentally appropriate and comprehensive counseling program focused on academic success, personal and social development, and career and college counseling. Counselors, in partnership with teachers, students, parents, community members, and administrators, will ensure that each and every student becomes a life-long learner and a respectful citizen of a diverse, multicultural, and international community. The school counseling program at daVinci is based on the American School Counseling Association National Model (ASCA) and Portland Public Schools Counseling Framework.

Hello, I am Shannon Foxley. I have been a school counselor since I graduated from PSU in 2004, but my journey to being a support of those around me has been most of my life. I was raised in Ashland OR in the '80's by a single mom who was a high school biology teacher. I have an older sister and younger brother - I am THE middle child.
In my career I have been a counselor at all levels. I've worked in title 1 schools, dual-language Spanish immersion, and many other programs. When asked, middle school is my FAVORITE level to work with.
When I am not working I love stand-up paddle boarding, crafting, working in my yard, going on vacation to my family's cabin in S Oregon, & watching baseball (I'm a baseball mom and unfortunately a White Sox fan). I also LOVE to see live music. I've been married for over 20 years and am the mom to 2 McDaniel High Schoolers - currently 10th and 11th grade.

Hello! My name is Shelby Kugler (Ms. Shelby) and I am one of two school counselors here at daVinci Middle School. This year I will also be a counselor at Markham Elementary School on Thursdays.
This is my third year at da Vinci, and fourth year as a school counselor. I graduated Lewis and Clark's K-12 Counseling Program in the Summer of 2021, and prior to that I attended Portland State University for my bachelor degree (2019) and Clackamas Community College for my associates degree (2017).
When I am not at work I am usually spending time with my husband and our adorable cat Momo! I love to visit vintage/antique stores, go to farmers markets and try out new pizza shops.
I am truly honored to get to work with all of you this year, and am excited to meet all of you!
