School Counseling Vision:

The students at daVinci Arts MS are artistic high-achieving learners who are prepared to graduate ready for college and careers. The comprehensive school counseling program vigorously supports student achievement and forges partnerships with parents, staff, and community stakeholders who are passionate about both life-long learning and each child's potential to succeed at the highest level. daVinci Arts MS students are prepared to make a significant difference in the lives of others at home, in their school & communities.

COUNSELOR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY

• A School Counselor works with all students to encourage a safe school climate of trust and respect

• Deliver classroom lessons that align to ASCA standards

• Facilitates small groups

• Meet individually with students for brief individual support

• Help students who are struggling to make positive behavior choices

• Collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, support staff, and administration

• Maintain confidentiality of students and their families unless there is a need to know or safety concern

• Provide education and information about students social-emotional needs
