Meet the Coaches
Mikha Kaiel
Mikha (pronounced Mee-khah) started his swim career with the Portland Parks and Recreation summer league team at Peninsula pool. He started coaching the summer league team when he turned 18. Mikha, and his friend Spencer, coached the Peninsula swim team to three summer league titles in six years, and gained a deep appreciation for coaching. He has coached as an assistant for Roosevelt and Cleveland and as a head coach for De La Salle and Lincoln. This is Mikha's 13th year as the Lincoln head coach.
The Lincoln swim team has won 18 PIL district titles during his tenure. They have also finished top 10 at state 14 times. The Lincoln girls team has finished top 4 in state three of the last four years, including a 3rd place finish in 2025.
His coaching philosophy tries to focus on making swimming fun for swimmers of all skill levels, and to also motivate and encourage swimmers to push themselves to improve.
