While we are incredibly proud of our legacy—including 8x OSAA State Championships and 20x PIL Championships—the heart of our team isn't found in a trophy case. Our dance team is all about the joy of the journey.
We’ve built a team where dancers of all levels can come together to grow, practice, and compete. From the early morning rehearsals to the excitement of a weekend competition, our goal is to push ourselves to be our best, working hard to sharpen our skills while having fun and supporting one another.
We are looking for dedicated, talented, and spirited dancers to join our team for the 2026/27 season.

Do I need prior formal dance training?
Not at all! We welcome dancers of all levels. Whether you’ve been dancing for years or are just starting out, there is a place for you here to learn, grow, and have fun.
When does the season run?
Our official season spans both Fall and Winter. For the 2026/27 season we will run from September 2nd to March 19th. Out of season, our team meets for Thunderbird Camp from July 10th-13th.
How often does the team practice?
The team will practice 3x a week for 2026/27 season:
Monday 4:00-6:00pm Dance / Wrestling Room
Wednesday 4:00-6:00pm Dance / Wrestling Room
Friday 6:30-8:00am Main Gym
What dance styles do you focus on?
We perform a fun mix of Jazz, Contemporary, Pom, and Hip Hop. One of the best parts of being on the team is getting to try different styles and seeing what you enjoy most.
Does the team compete?
Yes! We are a proud OSAA-sanctioned team. We typically participate in four competitions across Oregon, leading up to the State Championships in Salem. This year, our journey took us to Canby, Pendleton, Gresham, and right here in Portland. You can also catch us dancing at some home football and basketball games!
What is the cost to join?
For the 2025/26 season, the cost was the standard $200 OSAA fee. We try to keep things accessible: the team budget covers your performance costumes and tights. Dancers are only responsible for providing their own dance shoes (jazz & ballet).
Tegan Thomas joined the Lincoln High School community in August 2025, bringing 16 years of coaching experience to our dance program.
"I have learned that dance is for everybody, at every stage of life, regardless of level. I am proud to incorporate every dancer in my teams, as long as they are dedicated and ready to work".
Coaching Philosophy & Culture:
"I coach with the mental health of athletes in mind as much as I can. We know that not every run through will be perfect, but we will give our best every single time we step on the floor".
"Our team culture is supportive, encouraging, and growth-minded. Every time we leave the gym (or studio) we leave better than we came".

We love for our dancers to get involved with fundraising for our dance program. Throughout the year, we host several fun events that bring us closer together. One of our highlights is our Junior Dance Clinic, where we get to mentor and dance alongside the next generation of performers. We also take pride in supporting Friends of Lincoln and other school-wide initiatives.
