This website is a resource for both parents and students to check out what we are creating in the art room. New updates will be posted weekly about assignments, events, and photos of students' work. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

It is the start of a new year! This fall, our goal in the art room will be to explore ways to increase creativity, problem solving, and perseverance. Beautiful artwork will just be the happy byproduct of this learning! Please know that the most important skill to possess in this room is a willingness to try. I will teach you the rest!
Students will check out the needed art supplies in the classroom. These provided supplies are expected to be well maintained and used responsibly. By doing so, this will allow you and your classmates more artistic opportunities to explore your skills with quality materials.
Art Survey: Please bring these supplies with you everyday to class. Cubbies for storage are available.
1 Spiral Bound Sketchbook. They will be occasionally collected for assessment.
Writing Pencil
1 plastic or vinyl eraser (usually white or black). No pink rubber erasers.
All art students will create or maintain their online portfolios from last year or create a new one in art survey. This is a vital tool for recording your growth throughout your entire high school career, so you will need to be diligent about taking photos of work, updating reflections, and posting final works by the due date. Students with iPhones, please make sure you do not take HEIC (high efficiency mode) photos since that file format is not supported by Google Sites.
Please see the Grading for Learning page for more information.
Students MUST maintain their distance from Mrs. Heintz and follow good hand hygiene practices when in the art room. Students should bring their sketchbooks, supplies, and projects. All surfaces and shared supplies will be sanitized after each use. Students will be expected to work on their project outside of class.
Please use Google Classroom for virtual check-ins, group discussions, and assignment due dates. This website will also be a valuable resource. Photos of your work MUST be posted to your art portfolio.
