In Ceramics I, students explore several methods of hand building sculpture as well as throwing on the potter’s wheel. They learn about and utilize various sculptural techniques used to create sculptures in clay. Students also analyze and compare form and functionality found in ceramic pieces throughout different cultures.
In Ceramics I, students explore several methods of hand building sculpture as well as throwing on the potter’s wheel. Ceramics II is a continuation of the study, however students have the choice to focus on sculpture or throwing. Students also learn how to load the kiln and other tasks in the ceramic making process.
