The focus of development on placement two is patient-centred care. This is in addition to developing their clinical skills on placement. By the end of the placement students will be expected to have a good understanding of patient needs, an empathetic approach and a basic understanding of individualised management plans.
In addition to that described for placement one students will have a greater understanding of pathology. Students will have been taught about, and researched, some common pathologies within neurology, respiratory and musculoskeletal settings. Students can be expected to apply this knowledge (when appropriate) to help them with the diagnosis and treatment of other conditions which they may not have yet come across.Â
