The focus of development on placement five is leadership, in addition to developing clinical skills. During this placement students are expected to be working towards a band five physiotherapist (or equivalent) level. Students should be able to show leadership qualities whilst on placement five. Some examples of how students could show leadership are delegating tasks to assistants, leading an exercise group, participating in audit or leading in-service training.
Between placement four and placement five students will mostly have been working on their dissertation projects. In addition to the knowledge and skills described previously it is expected that students will be proficient in managing their time and proactive in managing their own learning.
