Happy Sunday! We hope you had a wonderful time at the Haunted House on Saturday! We have an exciting week ahead that culminates in Dress up Day and our morning parade on Friday! As a reminder, there is no after school on Friday. Additionally, if you have not yet seen your student’s fall snapshot, it is now available on the Parent Portal.
Last week we:
continued our letter of the week unit by learning about the letter C. Students thought of 17 words for our list and decorated the large C by painting with cars.
continued to learn about Colombia as part of El Mes de la Herencia Latina. We learned all about the Caño Cristales and each student began creating their own version of the river. We also enjoyed a special performance by Gogo Norales on Friday morning during Community Time.
carved our pumpkin! After reading It’s Pumpkin Day, Mouse! by Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond students voted on what kind of feeling they wanted the pumpkin to have. After the pumpkin was carved, we voted on a name for our pumpkin. After four rounds of voting, we landed on Silly Goose!
tried our apple sauce!
learned about Diwali.
This week we will:

finish creating our Caño Cristales rivers.
decorate our tiny pumpkins!
celebrate Halloween and participate in the parade! Ms. Aliyah will teach us an exciting and spooky dance! Please reference these guidelines as you think about your student’s Halloween costume for our upcoming Haunted House and Dress Up Day and Parade.
An important note: As the weather is getting colder, please make sure your student has weather appropriate extra clothing in their cubby. We will be sending home any shorts and summer dresses soon and ask that you send in pants, tights, and thicker dresses.

The November LSPA meeting will be on Friday, November 14 from 8:45-10.
Poly PM Winter Registration will open on Monday, November 17 at 10:30.
The Used Coat Drive and New Toy Drive will start on Monday, November 17.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place in person on Thursday, November 20 after school and virtually on Monday, November 24.
There is no school for students from Monday, November 24-Friday, November 28.

Happy Sunday! We hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed Pumpkin Patch. It was an apple filled week in the classroom as we tasted apples, learned about the parts of an apple, and made apple sauce! As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Monday, October 20 in honor of Diwali.
Additionally, we are still missing two pictures for our Family Tree! If you are not sure whether you have sent in a picture, please let us know.

continued to learn about Colombia as part of El Mes de la Herencia Latina. We went on an Emerald Hunt in Spanish and learned how to dance Cumbia with Ms. Aliyah!

Happy Sunday! We hope you had a great weekend. After a busy and unexpected start to the week we had an exciting and fun filled time together. As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, Monday, October 13 in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
Additionally, we are still missing two pictures for our Family Tree! If you are not sure whether you have sent in a picture, please let us know.
Last week we:
began our letter of the week year long unit! We started with the letter A. Students learned to make uppercase A’s with sticks and their bodies. They also learned how to make an A in American Sign Language. While talking about the sounds that an A makes, everyone thought of 10 words to add to our word list. Finally, everyone created apple print paintings and decorated a large A that will hang in our classroom.

We would love your continued help in facilitating the morning routine each day! When students come in each morning they should:
- put their backpack and jacket away in their cubby
- put their water bottle on the fridge (and snack on the counter if they have it)
- use (or try) the bathroom and wash their hands
- answer the question of the day

If your child is staying for rest time, please send in a blanket, crib sheet, and/or small stuffed animal that they can use. Additionally, if you have not done so already, please send in extra clothes and rain boots and a rain jacket for your child's cubby.
