WHO AM I?
WHO AM I?
I am Pristine Marie G. Patiño. I am a fourth-year Bachelor in English Education student at Philippine Normal University-Manila. I completed my primary and secondary education at St. Mary’s College Quezon City. In this educational institution, I received subject excellence and became part of the Ignacian Press Club. I bike, read books, watch documentaries, write in my journal, and hang out with my dogs in my spare time. I am also part of Santo Cristo de Bungad Parish’s Ministry of Lectors and Commentators.
WHY DID I CHOOSE TO BECOME A TEACHER?
I have always enjoyed activities in school that require speaking in front of the class. During group presentations or class reporting, I always volunteered to present our work. Also, I would gladly take charge and guide my classmates in those group activities. Because of this, I knew that my college course had to have something to do with public speaking or teaching. But when I had the opportunity to report on a chapter of El Filibusterismo and a lesson in Economics, and both of my Filipino and Araling Panlipunan teachers told me I did an excellent job on my report, I knew I should become a teacher. My work immersion experience in Grade 12 as a student teacher also influenced my decision to pursue a career in education.
WHAT IS MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY?
My teaching philosophy is to make learning both informative and engaging. I want my future students to be passionate about learning, which I believe is attainable if they enjoy themselves in class. Thus, I see the teacher as a facilitator of learning who guides and helps the students engage in the learning process.
