What is NSNA?

NSNA stands for the National Student Nurses Association. They strive to bring together and mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses as well as those enrolled in baccalaureate completion program, convey the standards and ethics of the nursing profession, promote development of the skills that students will need as responsible and accountable members of the nursing profession, advocate for high quality, evidence-based, affordable and accessible health care, advocate for and contribute to advances in nursing education, and develop nursing students who are prepared to lead the profession in the future. Being a member automatically makes you a member of the Nursing Students of Washington State.

Non-NSNA members are eligible for some scholarships, NSNA members eligible for more. 

Deadline, January 26th, 2024 

Applications are submitted online at www.forevernursing.org

Students graduating after July 1, 2024 are eligible to apply and receive the scholarships.

PLU and NSNA Through the Years

NSNA 2023
Karli Kooi, the Vice President of Nursing Students of Washington State and PLU student for Fall 2022-Spring 2024, represented PLU in the House of Delegates at the 2023 Annual Convention in Nashville, Tennessee in April 2023.

NSNA 2016 

The convention this year was in Orlando, Florida from March 30th to April 3rd. Meaghan Oakes was this years attendee from PLU and she stayed at  Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. 

NSNA 2015

Delta and the Nursing Alumni sponsored two members including Chelsea Kleindl and Vanessa Jodway to go to the NSNA Conference in Phoenix, AZ. During this time, Vanessa ran for director West for the NSNA. 

NSNA 2012

Two of our Delta members were selected to go to the 2012 NSNA conference in Pittsburgh, PA!

NSNA 2011

Congratulations to Tommy Hartono, Julie Cunningham, Tara Melborne and Carissa Carter for being selected to go to the 2011 NSNA conference in Salt Lake City. During the conference the recipients will attend workshops and upon their return will do presentations about the conference for Delta members.

NSNA 2010

We are fortunate enough to have an anonymous donor make a donation to Delta that allowed us to send three people to the national conference instead of just two. We are very excited with the number and quality of the applications. The three students who were chosen to attend are Kajsa Swenson, Angelica Fink and Kim Applebee.

72nd Annual Convention


Purpose: Opportunity to make professional contacts &  to network with people who can impact your profession and give you access to new opportunities


When: The 72nd NSNA Annual Convention takes place April 3-7, 2024 in Orlando, FL


Annual Convention: Conferences are designed to provide students with exposure to nursing specialties and to provide career development workshops as well as an informative and affordable NCLEX-RN review.
