Gateway Community College - To be eligible for an Associate in Science degree in the Aviation Maintenance program, a student must successfully complete a Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) approved Airframe and Power plant Mechanics program and have an active license. Thirty credits will be granted to individuals who have an active FAA license. In addition, 32 credits of college instruction must be completed for the Associate in Science degree. Graduates from this program may obtain employment as mechanics at airports, technicians with aircraft and power plant companies, or they may continue their education toward a B.S. degree in the industrial and manufacturing fields.
