Students at Project Impact STEM Academy demonstrate STEM content knowledge representative of STEM literacy outcomes that prepare them for the next level of learning and work.
Project Impact STEM Academy is currently performing well above their comparable group, Kuna School District, in Mathematics education and ELA. Project Impact STEM Academy is also outperforming both of the other Treasure Valley charter schools that opened in 2018-19. This data was collected from the 2020-2021 spring ISAT.
The last time that science was assessed and scores were reported at the state level was during the 2018-2019 school year. At that time we were performing above the state and our comparable group, Kuna School District. test data to compare or evaluate. During the 2019-2020 school year Idaho trialed a new Science ISAT and districts did not receive their data back for these assessments. Since 2018-2019 we have continued to pour a significant amount of effort into further growing and developing all of our STEM programs, including science and math.
Historical Data growth in Math, ELA, and Mentoring can be viewed on our Continuous Improvement Plans along with reflective statements:
2019-2020 with 2018-2019 data (Combined Narrative and Metrics)
Project Impact STEM Academy's summative ISAT Math scores (50% at or above proficient) for the 2020-21 school year outperformed their comparable group (Kuna School District), Exceeded the Idaho Public Charter School minimum mean standard for the school, outperformed the state average (40.3%), and approached the state goal. The 7th and 8th grade, in particular, performed high. In the 7th grade, 71% of our students were at or above proficient, compared to 40% at the state level. In the 8th grade, 67% of our students were at or above proficient, compared to 36% at the state level.
Project Impact STEM Academy's summative ISAT ELA scores (52% at or above proficient) for the 2020-21 school year outperformed their comparable group (Kuna School District), Exceeded the Idaho Public Charter School minimum mean standard for the school, and is just below the state average of 54.5%. The 7th and 8th grade, in particular, performed high. In the 7th grade, 71% of our students were at or above proficient, compared to 40% at the state level. In the 8th grade, 67% of our students were at or above proficient, compared to 36% at the state level.
Idaho changed its method of testing science during the 2020-21 school year, so all data from these tests were suppressed and has not been released to the schools. We should received data from these tests during the 2020-21 school year.
The last time the Pi STEM was assessed in by the ISAT in Science was in the 2018-2019 school year. That year we outperformed our local district and the state, with 56% of our students at or above proficient. Since this time, we have increased both our ELA and Math scores by 12 - 22% and have increased the consistency and quality of our science and engineering instruction, so I would expect our scores to be significantly higher in science than they were in 2018-19.
