2020-21 we had one student that participated on our partner FIRST team, Banana Robotics - FIRST Tech. This provided our FIRST Administrator, Jill Hettinger, the ability to experience FIRST Tech and get a good feeling for what would be needed to implement the program at Project Impact STEM Academy.

2021-22 is the first year that Pi STEM will be offering FIRST Tech Challenge. FIRST Tech Challenge uses REV robotics parts and JAVA code to design a robot that works both autonomously and through the use of an XBox-type controller. The robots compete on a 12' x 12' floor mat and interact with game components to collect points. One portion of the game is also collaborative with a randomly selected partner.
