Weekly Message from Mrs. Owens for Band and Chorus

3/16-3/20

Dear Band and Chorus Families,

Your children are making great progress toward our Spring Concert. We only have 5 rehearsals left. While that seems like a lot, keep in mind that is one week worth of rehearsals. Your child should be practicing at home to supplement what we do. It is easy to forget everything we work on with a whole week between rehearsals.

There will be no Chorus on Monday, March 16 due to required Professional Development for teachers after school.

Solo and Ensemble Festival is May 9. I will be sending out a Google form for you to sign up your child. Please talk to them about the type of solo or ensemble they would like to participate in. Bear in mind that this will be on Saturday, May 9 at Lincolnton Middle School. I will be there, but parents must provide transportation to and from the event. I will not have specific times until after the registration is complete. The Google form will be sent in a separate email.

Monday, March 16 - NO CHORUS REHEARSAL

Tuesday, March 17 - 3:00-5:00 - Concert Band rehearsal

Wednesday, March 18 - 3:00-4:30 - Percussion rehearsal

Thursday, March 19 - 3:00-5:00 - Symphonic Band rehearsal

Friday, March 20 - Students have been missing Band Fun Nights. Let's have one tonight! 6-8 in the band room. Students may bring snacks to share! Please bring your own water or soda.
