Sixth grade music classes teach elements of music including: beginning note reading, music vocabulary, instrument families, and tempo and dynamic markings. In addition, music of the Baroque period to the Romantic period is part of music discovery in sixth grade, including the works of: Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frederick Handel, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Frederic Chopin, and Robert Schumann.

Week of 9/22/2025- 9/25/2025
Last week students made progress on their lapbook project about Johann Sebastian Bach. This project is highly dependant on listening and following instructions. The end result will be a folder filled with a booklet and cards with facts about the composer and his compositions. There will be worksheets for students to complete and add to the lapbook. This project will be completed in class and will be a project/test grade.
This week we will be finishing the lapbook and listening to some of Bach's compositions.
