Eighth Grade Music
Eighth grade music continues to explore elements of music. Non-western music is studied as essential to understand the blending of cultural styles that make up much of our modern music. Classical music is also studied, with a focus on music and national identity. In addition, students are introduced to opera as one example of vocal music. The class comes to a conclusion with American music, including musicals by Rogers and Hammerstein and Leonard Bernstein.
