Band handbook signatures are now late. Credit for these will be reduced by 30% this week.
We will be working on the F concert scale. Those who tested on this scale last semester will be given specific benchmarks to meet with this scale to improve your peformance. We are continuing a unit on syncopation. To help with both goals (scales and syncopated rhythms) we are drilling syncopated rhythms on scale tones.
We will be continuing to sight-read potential concert music to strengthen our sight-reading skills and to logically determine how reasonable these pieces are for concert and symphonic band. We will use knowledge of range, rhythms, etc. to analyze each piece.
Students will also be given independent practice time to work on their band karate levels.
On Mondays, students will be allotted class time to work on their Band Karate levels. Students should come to class prepared to record the next two or three pieces toward that goal.
