Seventh Grade music class reviews many of the elements of music learned the previous year. Seventh graders pick up where sixth grade left off with music of the Romantic period. Some composers that will be studied are: Johannes Brahms, Hector Berlioz, Franz Liszt, and Richard Wagner. Music and National Identity will be studied and the semester will culminate with a study of blues and jazz.

Week of 3/30-4/2
Last week we discussed jazz history up through the Swing era. This week we will finish up by listening to a few Swing bands and continuing with bebop.
Last week, students drew names for a musician for their jazz project. Students received a grading rubric, so they knew exactly what to do. We discussed the rubric in depth in class. On Friday, students were allowed some class time to get started on the project.
