Seventh Grade music class reviews many of the elements of music learned the previous year. Seventh graders pick up where sixth grade left off with music of the Romantic period. Some composers that will be studied are: Johannes Brahms, Hector Berlioz, Franz Liszt, and Richard Wagner. Music and National Identity will be studied and the semester will culminate with a study of blues and jazz.

Week of 8/31-9/4
Last week students continued their study of rhythm, using bucket drumming to get practical experience with specific rhythms and vocabulary. We ended the week by finishing our study of half notes. We had a playing quiz this week, also. On Friday, students were able to join my Google Classroom in order to access learning materials and future assignments. All slideshows will be posted as we complete them in class so that students will have access and be able to study and practice independently (from home, if they have a computer or smart phone.)
On Monday 8/31, students will have another vocabulary quiz. We will be learning about the importance of the half rest this week.
