Why study music?  

The answers to this question are as limitless as individual perception.   Some would answer that we study music as a tool to integrate curriculum and increase the revelance of other subjects.  A currently popular view is that music increases activity in different areas of the brain resulting in better communication between the hemispheres positively affecting intelligence.  Some would answer that the study of music improves emotional intelligence.  Yet others would answer that one should study music solely for music's sake.  We study and teach music for all of these reasons and more...
