Computer Mouse Organizer
Since the wireless mouses in our lab travel freely and it takes students a significant amount of time to locate a particular mouse to use with their laptops...
Ms. Tran told us to design a solution to organize the computer mouses (and the optional mouse pads) so that they are easy to locate and stay organized when not used. The solution must not take up too much counter space and have easy access to the mouse. You can use either the laser cutter or 3D printer to prototype your solution.
Brainstorm: When our teacher first introduced the project to our class, Eddie (my partner) and I brainstormed on the table about possible designs. We eventually got inspired to place the mouse vertically and to use less filament when printing. We also put charging holes in the back. The designs conveys a message of simplicity and sleekness, as other groups created an organizer with all 16 mouses. After a lot of measuring using the caliper, we eventually came up with some dimensions and a design which you will see below.
HAND SKETCH HERE:
Procedure: First, we (Eddie and I) started the design by creating a box that extrudes upwards. Then we mirrored that to the other side, with a border splitting them in between. We added a flap in the front to prevent any fall and holes on each side of the back for charging purposes. Each day of this project, I was came up with new ideas to make this design even better. This contributed to all the aspects that our mouse organizer has.

Reflection - SOUL
S - Our design is very simple and reliable for organization and charging at every table.
O - To improve, I think I could've made room for more mouses to fit.
U - I understood how to extrude in complex situations and how to create simple things in Fusion 360.
L - Some limitations I encountered were that I underestimated all the space I was adding to my first design.
WISCR - For this project, I think being an insightful thinker was the most valuable skill. It really sparked creativity in some moments where I really needed it. Also, being a clear communicator was very helpful when a point wasn't getting across to my partner.
