Illuminating Structure

Project Description: Mrs. Tran said that we had to make a laser-cut lantern. It had to be cut in the right places so that the light could shine through well. 

Brainstorming: We had to brainstorm many ideas in order to find one that would be cool for a wooden lantern. In the end, we decided to illustrate different themes of animals and pirates on an 8x8 square wooden design. No hand-sketches were drawn.

Procedure: First, we had to find images to insert into the Fusion 360 design. Then, we had to insert the canvases into the Fusion 360 design. We made our outline for the shape and fit each of the canvases into their places. After that, we used a spline to trace the design. We had to put the sketch into Adobe Illustrator to laser-cut it. 

Reflection: 

SOUL:

Strength: I was very good at splining after a few designs.

Opportunities to improve: I should have been a little bit more detailed with the splining.

Understanding: I understand that I can spend more time to add more intricate sketches.

Limitations: I was limited in my ability to do the project because of the deadlines.
