This page follows my progress throughout my Soap Project.
Project Overview:
This project will be made for a loved one in celebration of Valentines Day. We will make a soap and think of a funny line to write on it, and then CAD an object that has to do with the person we appreciate/love.
Procedure:
I split the procedure section into 7 Days, so that you can follow my process and see the time that it takes to make a meaningful soap for a loved one.
Day 1: Brainstorming
The first thing I would have to decide would be who to make the soap for. I contemplated between my mom, dad, and my sister. I decided on my sister, and began thinking of things she liked. My sister loves cheese, so I decided to make a slice of cheese, and thought of a funny tag line for the soap "I don't wanna be cheesy, but I think we'd be gouda together". I drew the design in Procreate on this day as well.

Day 2: CADing
On day 2, I began CADing my project in Fusion 360. Due to its simple design, I was finished CADing on Day 2. I added my text on the side, hoping to save space due to the space requirements. Eventually, I had a finished design ready to print.

Day 3: More CADing and Printing
On day 3, I finished CADing the details in my project in Fusion 360. After that, I was ready to print my firsts prototype. After downloading Bambu Handy I was ready to print. Aside from some minor difficulties with importing my .stl file and a broken printer, the printing process went smoothly.
Day 4-5: Printing and Troubleshooting
On day 4, I got back my fist prototype, and it looked to have printed perfectly, however after looking at it more and removing supports, one side was chipped and messy due to it being unbalanced and at a slant on the printing plate. Other parts of the prototype were not to my liking, so I decided that I needed to fix it. I tried many different ideas to fix the "Broken" side, but in the end I decided to move the cheese to a different slant in the 3D printer. After Fixing this, my print job didnt work and somehow it printed too small, therefore I would have to re-size it and print again.

Day 6: Molding and Finalizing
On day 6, My print was finally ready, and I was able to begin molding my print. Because of the complicated holes in my cheese, it was a little difficult to mold, but I was able to finish in time before it dried out and was unable to stretch and mold.

Day 7: Soap Pouring
On day 7 I was able to get my dried mold back, and then, after some minor fixes, I was ready to pour the soap in. For soap smell, I chose vanilla flavoring, and a yellow color, however I think that the stick I used to stir the food coloring had a little bit of blue on it. Because of this the color came out a little bit green.

Final Project:
Finally, after all the hard work i've put into this project I was able to present it to the class. When I took the project out of the mold a little bit of soap came off, but I think it makes the cheese look more like real cheese. The green spots really look like mold, but think it gives the cheese character. The text is a little hard to see, but I think its okay. At the end of the gallery walk, our class voted, and my soap was voted as the best project, which I'm really proud about! I love how my cheese turned out and I think it will make a really good brithday gift for my sister.

SOUL Reflection:
Strength of my work: Due to the very not complicated nature of my project, I was able to get my work done quickly, and that gave me the oppurtunty to print more protoypes in less time.
Opportunities to improve: If I was better at using Fusion 360 I could have improved the design of my project.
Understanding: I learned a lot of things through this project. I learned how to print using Bambu Handy, how to use the Fusion 360 Cut and Sphere tool, and how to make different layers in Fusion 360.
Limitations: A major limitation I faced in this project was that I am not very expirenced in using Fusion 360, and that caused my project to be very simple. Often, the printers were either broken of in use, so I had to wait in line.
WISCR Reflection:
Well-Rounded: This project helped me strengthen my CS skills and expand my skills to become more Well Rounded.
Insightful and Critical Thinkers: In this project there were a lot of challenges that I had to overcome using my critical thinking skills, these challenges not only challenged me to learn more, but also challenged me to ask questions.
Self Motivated: This project there was minimal help from the teacher, because of that I had to work on my own and figure things out by myself. Self Motivation kept me working on the project even if I was getting tired of it.
Clear Communicators: Because of the minimal teacher help, I also asked my desk mates for help, and they asked me too. Because of this I got closer with my desk mates and created new connections.
Respectful Individuals of Character: When other people asked me for help, I was happy to give it to them, but also mad sure I wasnt doing it for them. When people had struggles I made sure to not judge them for it, or fix it for them, but to encourage them to fix their problem on their own.
